Coastanoa Recap 1

Happy Tuesday!

Brian and I spent the last two days at one of our favorite places, Costanoa. Situated on highway 1 within walking distance to Año Nuevo State Park, it is the perfect mini-getaway spot. My sister-in-law bought us a weekend package as a way of saying "thank you" for letting her stay with us, and we were happy to accept!

We drove over on Sunday afternoon after church and lunch with some friends. After checking into our room at the Lodge (a real treat, since we normally stay in the tent bungalows),

we decided to take a quick hike down to the beach before our dinner reservations.

It was super windy, so we didn't stay too long!

When we got back to our room, we opened the bottle of wine that had been left for us and enjoyed a glass on the patio before dinner.

There is a great restaurant at Costanoa called Cascades. Since we weren't actually paying for this trip, we decided to splurge a little on dinner.

We started with fresh bread and butter, obviously.

Since my husband (and everyone else on the planet) has been obsessively watching Old Spice commercials on YouTube, he always says, "I made this for you!" when he gives me something. Including a slice of bread. Silly!

We ordered the Brie and Greens salad to share.

For dinner Brian ordered the Skirt Steak,

And I ordered the Jumbo Prawns,

And then, of course, we shared a Creme Brulee for dessert :)

Sufficiently stuffed, we headed back to our room to relax, read the paper, and plan for Monday!
